SFS recently announced the winners of the 2018 photo contest, which ran from Fall 2017 to Summer 2018. This year’s contest saw more than 650 entries from 78 students – spanning 8 SFS centers across the globe. One grand prize winner and four category winners were announced.

In this shot, student Charli Klein looks up as she crosses a narrow bridge above the forest floor. Our judges fell in love with Sara’s photo for how well it captures the joy and excitement of being in the field and experiencing new ecosystems. We liked the photo’s unusual perspective, and the clarity of the textures on the bridge. We felt like we were right there in the field alongside the students.
