Profile

After SFS I went on to receive a bachelor’s and Master’s in Forest Management, also studying in the tropical forests of Costa Rica during undergrad. I have since settled in Minneapolis, MN and have worked for the MN-ND-SD Chapter of The Nature Conservancy for 6 years now as a GIS Manager for our Resilient Forests work. I manage and analyze data for our forest restoration work in Northern Minnesota. This summer alone we planted 2.3 million trees to make Minnesota’s forests more resilient to climate change! I have also been married for 8 years to my husband Ian and have two boys who I’m proud to say can identify a surprising number of trees: Gavin (5) and Jens (2).

Favorite SFS Memory: There are so many! To this day, my term at SFS has had a profound impact on me. A memory that sticks out to me at the moment is when an enormous python, in the process of digesting a pademelon, parked itself on top of a classmate’s tent and ripped it down the seam!
