I took a class called Ecology and Conservation of African Elephants in Kenya for one of the summer months of 2022. That was where I fell in love with elephants and African wildlife. I currently work as a zoologist at the Dallas Zoo with large mammals. I plan on working with elephants in the future and hopefully contributing towards their conservation. I still keep in touch with some of the students I studied abroad with and love hearing of their own accomplishments. I also plan on returning to Kenya some day in hopes of seeing some of the amazing staff members that helped open my eyes to other cultures and viewpoints on life.

Favorite SFS Memory: My favorite memory while attending SFS was when we first arrived to Kenya. While meeting all the students and staff, you could see everyone’s passion for wildlife and others. It inspired me and reminded me that there are others out there who genuinely care about the environment and other people.
